The Operator Console

From this console, the operator could monitor and control nearly all portions of the transmitter, from the modulators to the final amplifier tuning. Once again, due to the narrow bandwidth of the antenna, the operator needed to keep a close eye on the tuning. The resonant frequency of the antenna could change due to winds moving the wires or static fields from approaching thunderstorms. At one million watts input, proper tuning was VERY important!
